How To Cut Your Bangs/Fringe
Bangs or fringe need cutting? Here are some simple steps to follow:
- Comb out all tangles from your hair.
- Secure hair that is not to be cut away from the bang area.
- Check to see that you have the same amount of hair on either side before you begin cutting.
- Your first cut will be tip of nose level.
- Brush or comb and check length.
- If present length is not desired, cut 1/4 inch and then use this snipped section as a guide for the remainder of the bangs.
- Continue the directions above until you are happy with the length.
- Go very slowly. While your bangs will grow back, you don't want to make a mistake.
- If you want a softer, feather look to your bangs, snip tiny wedges from the edges keeping your scissors on a vertical angle rather than horizontal.
Tips:
- Try to use your scissors just for cutting hair. Scissors used for cutting paper are far too dull to do a good job.
- Good scissors are extremely sharp. Be very careful that you don't snip your fingers. It has been done!
- Hair should be dry before cutting. Wet hair stretches and if your bangs are wet, they are going to be far shorter than you intended, once they dry.
