Wana'ao has long, curly hair with the remains of color on the last four inches. She's having trouble managing her hair daily and wants a long, sleek look.
Catherine will perform the Paul Brown Salons' hottest chemical services, thermal straightening, to give her the texture she wants.
Asena begins by shampooing, then spraying an oil treatment on the color-treated ends to equalized porosity.
Products you'll need:
Hair-at-Rest Plus Straightening System and flat iron, Treat Elite leavin-in conditioner, Wash Elite shampoo, Resurrect conditioner, Diamond Heads Cuticle Sealer, Kukui Nut hot oil, all by Paul Brown Hawaii; Black Satin Gloves.
- Asena sections the hair in quadrants from a top center parting, then, starting at the nape, applies straightening lotion in 1/16 inch sections. She works from just off the roots down to the line of demarcation at the color-treated ends, combing through. The application processes 25 minutes at room temperature.
- She then applies the straightener to the ends, combing through completely every five minutes and processing for an additional 15 minutes. After a 10-minute rinse - no shampoo - she applies a leave-in conditioner and cuticle sealer.
- To finish the straightening, Asena blow dries the hair downward 80 percent. Using the flat iron, she straightens the hair to its final texture, moving smoothly from roots to ends.
